Understanding the complexities of alcohol and drug use in our community, our client is a leading treatment and education centre offering individuals and their loved ones a holistic and effective approach to actively motivate and foster the required mental, emotional and physical strength to overcome the effects of a dependency and bring about both a positive and permanent behavioural change. 

The Opportunity


Our client is seeking a Halfway House Coordinator to join their company in Wollongong, NSW, with the potential to earn up to $64,000 pa (Negotiable on experience and qualifications). You will also enjoy flexible hours with the option of a 30 hour work week available! 

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the provision of supervision, support and aftercare education programs for residents of Carinya Halfway House. This position is also responsible for providing drug and alcohol education programs to the general community, ex-clients and clients referred from other services.

Working alongside a supportive team, some of your responsibilities will include:


  • Ensuring that clients meet the criteria for entry/participation into their program and receive the best level of care available.
  • Ensure the ongoing identification and management of client issues/problems.
  • Ensure that clients are effectively supported and that other staff are aware of up-to- date information concerning the status of clients.
  • Work with clients to help identify their strengths and develop ongoing strategies to help reduce drug use & improve their quality of life.

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Alcohol & Other Drugs/Nursing/Welfare/Psychology or equivalent experience working in the Alcohol & Other Drugs field. It is also essential that you possess experience in case management and counseling.
